The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics (BSBA-DA) is a 180-credit hour program that is offered online and at the Colorado campuses. It consists of 66 general education credits, 86 credit hours devoted to the business administration core, and 28 credit hours in the data analytics concentration.
This program is designed to help students become familiar with data analytics and ways to incorporate managerial skills in an organization as it relates to business strategy and a data mining platform. The content is designed to provide students with the understanding of how data collection occurs and can be used toward informed business decisions. The program focuses on helping students develop knowledge of how to classify data and see how data analysis applies to organizational decisions to predict future opportunities and risks.
This program does not lead to additional licensure or certification. As such, CTU has made no determination regarding prerequisites for licensure or certification in any state or jurisdiction.

This course explores the use of the writing process to compose clear, organized writings that are appropriate for various audiences and purposes. This course introduces the importance of clear and persuasive writing in personal, professional, and academic contexts. In this course, students continue to practice writing for a variety of contexts, purposes, and audiences. Learning about government empowers students to be active citizens who have a positive impact on their communities. This course introduces students to quantitative techniques necessary to better understand the mathematical principles important to success in the professional world. Specifically, this course focuses on applied mathematical methods with a broad emphasis on business applications. Algebra for Business 4.5 MATH301This course includes an elementary coverage of statistical techniques augmented at each step with the aid of technology for data processing and analysis in making inferences. Students study graphical presentation and statistical measures, followed by basic probability concepts leading to binomial and normal distributions. Hypothesis testing is applied to drawing inferences for one and two population parameters. A graphing calculator or equivalent technology is required. Software and hand calculations are used to perform algorithms that can find optimal values which may assist managers in making decisions. This is a learning experience that complements the Introduction to the Sciences course. Since the course addresses how scientific thinking and the resultant technology has changed modern life, this lab will provide students with experiences in the scientific approaches of different sciences covered, such as: biology, chemistry, physics, geology and astronomy. This lab will be constructed specifically to extend the learning from each unit of the Introduction to the Sciences course, designed to provide experiences which deepen students’ familiarity with the scientific method and way of asking questions and solving problems.

In this course, students are taught about the preservation and conservation of natural resources and the resilience of the natural environment with respect to the carrying capacity of the earth. The world is full of numbers. But, what do the numbers mean? Statistical approaches dominate the field of social scientific inquiry and psychological research. Not a day goes by that we don’t hear a pundit say, ''Research shows…'' This course addresses the fundamental principles of statistics, emphasizing not how to do the quantitative mechanics of it, but rather how to interpret statistical studies and cull the insights for action or decision-making. This course emphasizes statistical reasoning and when causality can be claimed, as well as how to work with statisticians to set up meaningful inquiry and valid data collection and analysis. Students practice effective ways to display and present data as well as analytics, in support of research findings including how to use graphs, charts and data representation to formulate a position or hypothesis.

This course examines current principles and techniques employed in managing inventories as an integral part of a company’s supply chain. This business degree program emphasizes how data analysis is used to make informed business decisions and is designed to help students become familiar with data analytics, communicate data findings, and incorporate managerial skills in an organizational environment. As you work to complete your BSBA in Data Analytics, you will be immersed in courses where you will study these topics and much more: identifying patterns in data; how
big data applied to business analysis; and the influence of new data sources in shifting the role of analytics.
Courses for the BSBA in Data Analytics start online approximately every five weeks.
