Military Friendly Online College

As a military-friendly university, CTU aims to help you pursue your education and achieve your personal, professional, and academic goals while you serve your country, transition to civilian life, or support your military spouse. Our dedicated military team guides you through military education benefits and financial aid options, helps you maximize transfer credit for eligible service and training, and take advantage of military tuition rates and grants.

Colorado Technical University is proud to be known as a military-friendly school and we value our deep relationship with active members of the military and veterans. From the time they begin their education through to their post-service careers, CTU supports members of the military, veterans, spouses, and caregivers in achieving their educational and professional goals.

One of the many ways that CTU assists members of the military is with the Military and Veteran Resource Community (M.V.R.C.) tool. This online tool connects its users with numerous educational and professional resources, along with an outlet to communicate with other members of the military and veterans. This is just one way we’re working to remain one of the best online schools for the military.

Financial Aid

CTU’s Military Education Benefits Specialists are here to help you navigate your education benefits and financial aid. Active duty, Reserve and National Guard receive a reduced rate. When you’re ready to apply to a degree program at CTU, your first step is to visit your Base Education Center and talk to an Education Service Officer (ESO). They’ll give you the paperwork you need to get started and help you make sure that you get the tuition assistance (TA) you qualify for and advise you about any military education benefits.

Transfer Credit

Your military training and service may qualify you for course credit, taking you closer to an associate or bachelor’s degree. CTU uses the American Council on Education (ACE) guidelines to determine transfer eligibility for all newly-enrolled military students. Typically, transfer credit includes credit granted by a university for previous courses or programs completed. Along with standard transfer credit, students in the armed forces are eligible to use a Joint Service Transcript (JST) to apply past military training and experience to their CTU classes. In addition, our Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Commitment provides a personalized and comprehensive review of all eligible credit including all MOS codes held.
