Each Veterans Day, Colorado Technical University honors 50 deserving individuals with full-tuition scholarships to an eligible CTU degree program of their choice. Since 2008, the CTU Patriot Scholarship has been awarded to 550 student applicants, totaling over $11 million in education. We are proud to release the list of this year’s recipients and to call attention to our nation’s heroes and supporters.
What is the Patriot Scholarship?
The CTU Patriot Scholarship was established to give back to those whose lives have changed due to injuries sustained while serving in the United States military. Persons eligible to receive the scholarship include active duty or veteran service members who obtained medical treatment for service-related disabilities. Spouses, non-medical attendants, and college-ready dependents of wounded service members may also apply.
Each scholarship recipient is awarded full tuition to eligible CTU degree programs and may pursue his or her degree online or at either of our ground campuses in Colorado Springs or Aurora, Colo. Recipients are also gifted with a new laptop computer and hardcopy textbooks or e-books. Additionally, CTU provides specially trained military education advisors and around-the-clock technical support to students.
Organizations Supporting Our Patriots
Since the founding of the Patriot Scholarship, Yellow Ribbon Fund, Inc. has worked with CTU to offer education opportunities for military veterans and their loved ones. In April 2019, the University teamed up with additional military and veteran-supportive organizations for the upcoming academic year. The groups involved with the 2020 Patriot Scholarship include Yellow Ribbon Fund, Inc., The Elizabeth Dole Foundation, Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc., and Hire Our Heroes.
