Resume and Cover Letter Assistance
Your cover letter and resume provide a snapshot of your career to busy recruiters and hiring managers, and they are often the determining factor in whether you land an interview. Our Career Services team is comprised of certified professionals who can help you create a cover letter and resume, as well as tailor each for specific job opportunities.
In addition, many companies now use automated applicant tracking systems to screen candidates. Our Career Services team can provide you with helpful tips on how to navigate these systems.
CTU’s Employer Network
CTU has combined CareerBuilder’s job search technology with an employer database to give students an easy way to access employers who have an established relationship with the university. We call this the CTU Employer Network, and all students and alumni are invited to join.
Participation in the Employer Network is easy. CTU students and alumni complete a simple profile form and then conduct a personalized job search within our network. Our Career Services team is available to offer any additional assistance you may need in setting up your profile and navigating the site, and they can also provide you with helpful tips on how to narrow your network search using various filters and sorts.
The Employer Network can provide:
CareerBuilder’s technology helps match students and alumni with prospective job opportunities within CTU’s Employer Network based on the information they provide in their profile form and in the search parameters they use.
Using desired keywords, locations and categories, students and alumni will have the ability to proactively search through a list of open positions at companies within the Employer Network.
Based on desired job titles and locations, students and alumni can receive customized email notifications about job openings at companies from the Employer Network.
CTU Colorado Springs students are encouraged to take advantage of exclusive opportunities that support their job search and networking efforts. The Career Services Department hosts a broad array of career fairs, “company spotlights,” networking activities and workshops on a range of employment topics. If you’re feeling unsure about where to go next, events held by Career Services are a great place to start. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about your employment options, practice your job search skills and connect with people who can provide guidance on your job search efforts.
