When hard work meets opportunity, good things can happen—and sometimes publications like Forbes magazine takes notice! That’s what happened for Anamaria, a working mom from Columbus, Ohio, whose story of determination and growth was recently featured in Forbes magazine.

Anamaria began her career with McDonald’s, a CTU partner, when she was just 15 years old. What started as a part-time crew position became something much more—a place where she learned teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. As she took on new responsibilities and balanced life as a working mother, she remained determined to earn a degree.

And then she uncovered an opportunity that would redefine her path. CTU’s Center for Corporate Engagement (CCE) works with programs like McDonald’s tuition assistance program, Archways to Opportunity®, to connect students to flexible degree program options and the support they need to reach their education goals.

Now Anamaria is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, with plans to graduate in October 2026. Thanks to CTU’s flexible, mobile-friendly learning options, Anamaria can study on her schedule, balancing work, school, and family. Her employers have noticed the difference, recognizing how her energy, focus, and expanding skills have made her an even stronger contributor on the team.

Anamaria has now advanced to a marketing assistant role, where she supports operations and internal initiatives for her franchise organization. She’s also using her new learnings to help strengthen communication and promote a culture that encourages education and professional growth among her coworkers.

Her story shows that when organizations invest in education, everyone benefits. Employees gain opportunities to advance their education, and companies gain motivated, empowered team members who grow alongside them.
