EMPLOYER: Kelly Service
JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher
DEGREE: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Project Management -
I'M IN AND NOW I inspire my children to better their lives through education.
What is motivating you to pursue higher education?
I live in Jacksonville, Florida and am a Substitute Teacher. My ultimate goals are to inspire others. Through my spiritual life, and life changes, my career is very important to me, as well as my family. I have a sister that developed a brain tumor at early adult age and she had two children. My goals were to make sure that those two children had a good life and a good education. Travonn is in the Navy and is proud to serve his county. One of his goals is to finish college and receive his Associate's degree. Meanwhile, Kandace is an honor roll student in high school. It very important that we communicate with our children about achievement, never forgetting what we had to do to finish.
What goal(s) would you like higher education help you attain?
It was a dramatic change to return to university after taking so many years off. My ultimate goal is to complete my degree without doubt or fault. I spoke with the pastor of my church and he said not to give up, but to pray. I just buried my stepfather and he was one of the four people I was taking care of while taking classes online. If I could hear my father's voice now, he would say "I believe I can fly." My goals are to attain my degree in Project Management and continue my education by getting a Master's in Education and a Ph.D. Through spiritual life with God, I can spread my wings and fly.
How do you envision your life being different after earning your degree?
While I am during my homework, I develop skills, and master my course assignment. Education is not a dream, but a reality. In order to strive or succeed, a level of education is a must. It's not failure that can not succeed, but realizing your every needs. This is true statement indeed. Technology may change, but the goals of success are holding God's unchanging hand.
