CTU Team Recognized as “Most Patriotic” at Colorado Springs Patriots’ Festival

CTU Patriots Festival TeamColorado Technical University was the presenting sponsor for the 5th Annual Chick-fil-A Patriots’ Festival and Walk/Run/Ride for Heroes at Mountain Shadows Park in Colorado Springs on Saturday, September 12, 2015. The mission of the event is to honor those who put themselves in harm's way to serve their country and community. The first festival took place in the parking lot of CTU’s Colorado Springs campus, and it has grown into a beloved annual event in the area.

The staff of the VA Center at the Colorado Springs campus were recognized as the “Most Patriotic” team during the festival. Yoofi Minta, Robert Wekamp, Tracy Miller, Marcus Ollie, and Nicola Angle wore their red, white, and blue and earned on-stage recognition for the university.

Dr. Andy Cain, CTU’s Regional Vice President and Chancellor of the Colorado Springs Campus, spoke during the event. His remarks included CTU’s history and connection to the community, and the assistance that is provided to military students – active duty, veteran, Wounded Warrior, and family members – as they pursue their degrees.
