CTU Enters Academic Alliance with BIBT

CTU Enters Into Academic Alliance with Bahamas Institute of Business and Technology

CTU and new academic alliance partner Bahamas Institute of Business and TechnologyColorado Technical University (CTU) is proud to announce a new Academic Alliance with the Bahamas Institute of Business & Technology (BIBT). This collaboration, the first international academic alliance for CTU, makes CTU the exclusive United States-based academic alliance serving BIBT graduates.

Through this alliance, students who earn associate degrees at BIBT, and are subsequently accepted to CTU, will have the opportunity to enter any of CTU’s degree programs including business and management, engineering, computer science, project management, healthcare, and others. The new alliance highlights CTU’s expansion into the sphere of international higher education.

Collaboration through Education

The Academic Alliance began mid-August, when BIBT hosted a signing ceremony and press conference in Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Connie Johnson, CTU Chief Academic Officer and Provost, along with other members of CTU senior leadership.

During the visit, Dr. Deswell Forbes, BIBT President, gathered with senior leaders from both organizations to conduct meetings with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Nassau and Freeport.

Alliance Provides Student Opportunities

The collaboration between Colorado Technical University and BIBT grants students living across the Commonwealth of the Bahamas access to CTU’s adaptive learning technology, real-world faculty, and powerful professional network. Access to these resources represents increased opportunities in both education and career advancement for BIBT graduates.

As with all Academic Alliances, CTU will work closely with BIBT to ensure the transfer process is as streamlined and seamless as possible. The completion of an articulation/transfer agreement between the two organizations provides BIBT graduates with access to a simplified transcript evaluation process.

The collaboration has already begun in earnest; on September 1st, CTU hosted in-person information sessions at BIBT and accepted applications from BIBT graduates for the first time. CTU will host additional information sessions throughout the year.
