From spreadsheet applications to financial management and human resources to accounting, a broad understanding of business administration is needed to seek out a job in the business field and build a rewarding career. Providing students with the necessary and useful skills is the purpose of CTU's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree.

With 13 concentration options, students enrolled in CTU's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program have the opportunity to develop niche skills by pursuing a concentration. This better equips students with the skills and knowledge beneficial to the career path they envision building. CTU’s BSBA program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is offered on campus at the Aurora or Colorado Springs campuses, or online.

    An In-Depth Look at the BSBA Degree

    The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree is 180 quarter-credits and can be completed in as quickly as four years or sooner if students can take advantage of Fast Track™ exams. The BSBA degree covers general education coursework, concentration courses and core coursework.

    General education. Students start their business administration degree by completing fundamental courses in science, math, and writing. They also take both Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics and have the choice of a humanities elective or an Academic and Career Success course, which offers career planning strategies. These general education electives comprise 66 quarter-credits of the overall program.

    Concentration. Students take seven courses, for 28 quarter-credits, from a BSBA area of concentration. Often, these can be weaved in among the core education classes, many of which are also upper level.

    Core education. No matter what concentration students choose, they need to take fundamental courses that provide them with the basics when it comes to business skills and understanding. These core education classes make up 86 total quarter-credit hours and provide both theoretical and practical knowledge. Some of this core education coursework includes:

    • Organizational Business Principles

    Students also complete a 4 quarter-credit business capstone class. This is completed done during the last quarter of the program and provides students with the opportunity to integrate the knowledge they have learned over the course of their degree program, from human resources to accounting and supply chain management to business law, with current events and case studies.

    Students in CTU bachelor's degree programs typically bring a wealth of work experience and industry knowledge to the classroom. CTU Fast Track™ lets students earn college credit for what they already know. As a result, students can complete their degree up to 30% faster. Just as important, by passing multiple Fast Track exams, students can save up to 30% on tuition because they won’t have pay for the classes they test out of. There’s no additional cost for the exams and no penalty if a student fails to pass.*

    If you’re interested in pursuing a CTU master’s degree after your bachelor’s, talk to your advisor about Master’s Advantage. With this program, students enrolled in a bachelor’s program have the option to substitute two graduate courses for two undergraduate courses.
