CTU VP of Career Services - Gloria Hess

  • GLORIA HESS - Vice President of Career Services

As the Vice President of Career Services, Gloria is responsible for setting the strategic direction for this area of CTU and overseeing its implementation across both online and ground campus environments. Prior to August 2012 when she began in this role, Gloria conducted a private career coaching practice where she specialized in working with post-graduate experienced-hire professionals across all management levels and across various industries and disciplines. Her past experience also includes career services roles at both Northwestern University and The University of Chicago, where she addressed the career development needs of graduate student and alumni populations. In addition to being awarded board certification as a career coach by the Center for Credentialing and Education—an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors, Gloria is also a certified global career development facilitator who trained through the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center on Education and Work. An Associate of the Career Thought Leaders Consortium, she is also an active member of the National Career Development Association, the Association of Career Professionals International, Career Directors International, the Career Planning and Adult Development Network, the Human Capital Institute, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Gloria holds both a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Communication from Northwestern University.

  • BELINDA NICHOLS-ZONNO - Director of Career Services, Colorado Springs Campus

Belinda is the Director of Career Services for the Southern Colorado campus located in Colorado Springs. Prior to joining CTU, she spent more than 17 years in the staffing industry with an international company providing specialized staffing services. Her experience includes full-cycle recruiting and professional temporary staffing, as well as the design and facilitation of training programs for staffing professionals across the globe. She holds a BBA with a concentration in Financial Management from the Robert O. Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico.

In her role as Director of Career Services, Belinda oversees all aspects of the department, ensuring students are provided with guidance and training on career and industry research, resume writing, interview techniques, job search strategies and effective networking. She also works closely with employers in the community to identify employment and career opportunities for CTU students and alumni. Belinda enjoys building relationships with both students and employers, and is passionate about helping to bring the two together.

  • MARISSA BANKER - Director of Career Services, Denver Campus

Marissa joined CTU in August 2011 as the Director of Career Services for the Denver, Colorado region. She comes to CTU with a vast amount of experience in counseling and post-secondary education specific to career services and employer relations. As Campus Director of Career Services, Marissa manages the team responsible for assisting students and graduates with the overall employment process including resume writing, job searching techniques, cover letters and interviewing techniques. Marissa holds several certifications including performance coaching and resume writing that she leverages when working closely with her staff and students. Marissa establishes connections with local and national employers to connect students with industry professionals with the intent to increase career and internship opportunities. Marissa has also been an active member in the community for many years. She holds a number of leadership positions in the Junior League of Denver, is active in Aurora & South Metro Chambers of Commerce where she serves on the Women in Leadership Committees, and serves in Leadership Aurora and Economic Development Group to increase CTU visibility in the local market. Marissa is an active member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches. Marissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mesa State College and a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix.

  • KRISTI DECKER - Director of Student and Career Services, Sioux Falls Campus

As Director of Student and Career Services at CTU’s Sioux Falls, South Dakota campus, Kristi Decker leads the academic advising, registrar, and career services teams. Kristi joined CTU in January 2011 as a career cervices representative and has been in the director role since June 2012. As a certified professional resume writer, Kristi is able to lend her expertise to students in the process of resume and cover letter writing. She is also involved with maintaining productive employer relationships, planning quarterly events, sharing available job information with students, and working with career planning classes to ensure that the CTU student population is properly educated and equipped for the job search. Kristi maintains active involvement in the South Dakota Association of College Career Centers and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Kristi’s background includes seven years of experience in higher education as a college admissions counselor and seven concurrent years as a freelance high school essay scorer for national assessments. Kristi holds a Bachelor of Journalism Degree in Advertising with Highest Distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Education Degree from American InterContinental University.

  • STACIA KLASEN - Manager of Experiential Learning, Employer Relations and Alumni Services

In this role, Stacia is responsible for supporting the mission, goals, and objectives of CTU’s career services department by managing the areas of experiential learning, alumni and graduation services, and employer relations. She has been employed with CTU since 2004, working in a variety of roles within the Academics department, including Student Advising and Learning Services. Having already earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University, Stacia is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education from Northern Illinois University.

  • FRANK BIANCOROSSO - Career Coach, Online Campus Support Center

Frank brings several years of experience in higher education, as well as industry experience in recruiting, corporate development, webinar presentations, career services and training. In addition to his passion for career coaching, Frank is dedicated to connecting CTU students and alumni with other professionals and their employers. In addition to managing the employment lead process for our CTU/Optimal Resume website, Frank oversees our Career Snapshot and Employer Profile webinar series. He is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management form Keller Graduate School of Management.

  • LYNN FAGERLIE - Career Coach, Online Campus Support Center

Lynn is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a strong commitment to helping empower students by providing them with the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive job market. As a dedicated professional with more than 20 years of experience in the business world, she uses her diverse background in marketing and management to help job seekers effectively market themselves to hiring managers. Lynn earned a Bachelor of General Studies in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Professional Psychology from Roosevelt University. She is also a Certified Professional Resume Writer.

  • LOREN GREGOIRE - Career Coach, Online Campus Support Center

Loren joined CTU in June 2011. She is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition, Loren obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University. Loren serves as our CTU LinkedIn healthcare group moderator and she is active in developing career assignments within CTU curriculum.

  • RAFAEL HERRERA - Career Coach, Online Campus Support Center

Rafael joined the CTU Career Services team in May 2011 with extensive experience in career development in higher education. He has worked with young adults through Career and Lifestyle courses, career coaching, student clubs, and research. Rafael received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and his Master in Community Counseling from Argosy University. In his role at CTU, he most enjoys combining innovative uses of technology, promoting social media, and helping guide a student toward a career epiphany.

  • STEPHANIE SAJDAK - Career Coach, Online Campus Support Center

Stephanie began serving our students and graduates with Business Administration degrees when she joined the team in April 2011. Stephanie has a background in higher education, advising, and not-for-profit organizations. She completed her M.Ed. in Community counseling from Loyola University Chicago and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from North Central College. Stephanie is also a Certified Professional Resume Writer.

  • DARYL WILLIAMS - Career Coach & Adjunct Faculty, Online Campus Support Center

Daryl made a career change because he is passionate about assisting others in owning their careers, and due to his experience in this regard, he has a personal perspective on what works and does not. He offers over a decade of providing career, salary and interview assistance and has worked for Fortune 500, nonprofit and private corporations in the Chicago, Illinois area in managerial, customer service and sales capacities. He earned a Masters of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Development, and has served as a non-profit Executive Board member and volunteer coordinator. An avid blogger, Daryl can routinely be found posting career focused thought-provoking articles to the CTU LinkedIn page.

  • STEPHANIE DONOVAN - Resume Coach, Online Campus Support Center

Stephanie joined CTU in July 2012 after nine years in the secondary education classroom as an instructor of English and Communication Studies. Her areas of skill include resume writing, curriculum design, written communications, and proofreading for grammatical and structural content. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and English from Elmhurst College and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with a type 75 administrative certification from Aurora University. Stephanie is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and assists CTU students and alumni in resume and cover letter creation and revision.

  • AVERY WILLIAMS - Resume Coach, Online Campus Support Center

While Avery currently specializes in professional cover letter and resume critiques, her experience and skills cover a wide range of career services. She utilizes her business and higher education experience working with all degree programs and is comfortable coaching students and alumni at various stages in their career development. Avery has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Arts degree in Human Services - Counseling from National Louis University. She is also a certified Career Management Coach and a certified Administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

  • ANTHONY ZAGAJEWSKI - Experiential Learning Specialist

Before joining the CTU Career Services team as an Experiential Learning Specialist, Anthony Zagajewski worked in CTU Student Advising and within his first year was promoted to a Team Lead position. In his current role, Anthony assists students with completion of their graduation requirements and with graduation. He has been involved in many initiatives over the years that have positively impacted our students, including the Student Newsletter, serving as a Social Media Ambassador, and conducting the Admissions New Hiring Training for the Department of Military Education (DOME). He has also served as a point of contact for our hybrid student population and hosted numerous trainings for these students, including orientation. Anthony earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an additional major in Human Resources from Michigan State University and recently completed his Executive MBA from CTU. He is also a Certified Professional Resume Writer.

  • TARA CROSBY - Experiential Learning Coordinator

After leaving the recruiting industry, Tara Crosby joined CTU in its Prior Learning Assessment department. Now a member of our CTU Career Services team as an Experiential Learning Coordinator, Tara is committed to serving our students in the Associate of Science in Health Administration Services program that have the Professional Learning Experience as a graduation requirement. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Elmhurst College and is currently pursuing her M.Ed. in Leadership of Educational Organizations from American InterContinental University. Tara is also a Certified Professional Resume Writer.

  • LUPITA ARELLANO - Senior Engagement Representative

As the Senior Engagement Representative, Lupita is responsible for supporting the mission of CTU and Career Services by adhering to strict compliance and regulatory requirements. She collaborates with all CTU campuses to gather pertinent information for the purpose of fulfilling state and programmatic requirements. In addition, she oversees policy training within career services and contributes to the student experience through various technical initiatives. Lupita has been with CTU Career Services since 2009 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Westwood College of Technology. She is an active Domestic Violence Volunteer Advocate having completed the state-mandated training for the purposes of providing support, safety planning and domestic violence education.

  • STACEY MINOR - Alumni and Graduation Specialist

Stacey Minor joined the CTU Career Services team as our Alumni and Graduation Specialist in June 2012. She brings to CTU a wealth of career services experience in academia, as well as coaching corporate professionals to be successful by branding themselves as “You Inc.” in networking, interviewing and developing job search marketing materials. As the Alumni and Graduation Specialist, Stacey is responsible for overseeing the Virtual Graduation Ceremony, as well as assisting in the success of the ground campus graduations. Additionally, she is responsible for alumni surveys and managing alumni events and resources including the Alumni Association. Stacey earned a Bachelor of Science from University of Illinois.
