Academic Specialization/Focus at CTU

General Education

  • Why are you excited to be at CTU?

I enjoy teaching in an online environment. While I don’t have that face to face interaction, I find the online interactions I have with students much more meaningful. I teach writing, and I know that is not everyone’s favorite subject. Yet, written communication is the foundation of how we interact with others both personally and professionally and is an essential skill. Even though I work with CTU students for a short amount of time each term, I enjoy seeing their growth in not only their written communication but also in developing their own passions and accomplishing their goals.

  • What is your teaching philosophy?

I have the most experience teaching our introductory student success course. I utilize my experience working with students throughout the last seven years to help provide guidance to all of my students. I also use my leadership experience when I teach professional communications. My students get a kick out of my personal stories and how I make them feel engaged in the classroom.
