As part of Colorado Technical University’s sponsorship with the USO for the 2014 Warrior Games, Colorado Technical University welcomed Team Air Force with lunch, and a speech by Military Alliances Executive, Mike Waters. The Team Air Force athletes arrived the week of 22 September to prepare to compete in the Warrior Games the following week.
Waters, a retired Air Force officer, welcomed the athletes from all across the country representing Team Air Force to Colorado Springs on behalf of Colorado Technical University. In his speech he reminded Team Air Force that they were carrying on a rich heritage of responding to adversity with character and courage.
Waters stated it was an honor to meet them all, and that he was proud to now be associated with Colorado Technical University’s efforts to educate wounded warriors, which has awarded over $4.5 million to wounded warriors, or their spouses in scholarships since 2008.
