CTU’s Michael Midura Joins CCME’s Board of Directors

CTU Staff and CCME Board of Directors member Michael MiduraMichael Midura, a Military Alliances Executive at Colorado Technical University, was recently elected to the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) Board of Directors as the Advisory Council on Military Education (ACME) Liaison.  In this new role, Michael will provide an avenue for exchange of information to include active duty personnel, education services personnel and institutions and corporations working with military education.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Michael started working at CTU in January 2014 and helps the Military Team establish alliances with military services and associations, defense contractors and federal agencies. He promotes CTU to National Guard and Reserve Units, military organizations and affiliated agencies.

Michael has 10 years of experience working in Military Voluntary Education and previously served on the CCME Board of Directors as their Scholarship Chairman for the 2010 Nashville Conference where his committee awarded $10,000 in scholarships to both service members and military spouse recipients. Michael has also served as President of the Virginia Advisory Council on Military Education (VA ACME) as well as the Conference Planning Chairman in which VA ACME partnered with the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program to host a benefit golf tournament. He was instrumental in helping VA ACME gain exposure in the Governor’s office and also served as the military educational liaison for a committee started by the former First Lady. The inaugural golf tournament has grown to an annual event that has donated thousands of dollars to the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program. Through these state and national work experiences, Michael has a thorough understanding of military voluntary education.

In his three year role as ACME Liaison on the CCME Board of Directors, Michael will provide direct counsel support to state ACME leadership and assistance to those inquiring about forming a new state ACME. He is looking forward to working with the state ACME Presidents to further their endeavors in providing the best educational opportunities for our service members and their families across the country.

CCME membership is composed of military educators, civilian educators, post-secondary educational institutions, and suppliers of quality education products and services. CCME's mission is to promote and provide educational programs and services and to facilitate communication between the membership and the Department of Defense educational support network.

Michael was an Operations Specialists in the U.S. Navy for four years and was stationed in San Diego, California. He currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning at Westfield State College and a Master of Science in Management from Strayer University.
