Military Veteran Chooses CTU
After 20 years in the Army, eight years owning her own business, and a year of volunteer work in South Africa, Sandy Youngkrantz was looking for her next challenge. She decided to further her education and enrolled at Colorado Technical University, choosing to focus on a bachelor’s degree, CTU’s Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security.
“I attended several different colleges during my military career,” Sandy said, “but didn’t have the energy to finish my degree while on active duty.”
“After finally deciding to finish my degree, I did a lot of research online and came across CTU,” Sandy said. She was impressed by CTU’s positive online reviews and liked CTU’s support of the military.
CTU Fast Track™ Saves Time and Money
Sandy was further intrigued when her CTU admissions advisor told her about CTU Fast Track™, exams that test knowledge of key course objectives and when passed, can save time and money for prior knowledge from previous life and work experiences. As soon as she heard about Fast Track™, Sandy knew that it could have a direct impact on her degree.
“My favorite part about Fast Track™ is being able to put some of my real-world experience as credit toward my degree, even though I did not have a formal course on the topic,” Sandy said.
“CTU’s Fast Track™ gave me the opportunity to put a lot of my experience to the test in order to get credit for different subjects, like English, project management, programming, spreadsheet applications, and Web development,” she said.
Time and Money Saved Means New Experiences
For someone who grew up as an “Army brat,” claiming she is from “everywhere and nowhere,” it makes sense that Sandy doesn’t plan to settle down right away after she graduates from CTU.
“Passing Fast Track™ exams meant that I could finish my degree faster and put it to use as quickly as possible,” Sandy said. She has earned credit toward six CTU courses through Fast Track™.
“The time and money I’ve saved using Fast Track™ will be spent traveling the world before I settle down to do volunteer work in a nature preserve somewhere,” Sandy said.
How each CTU student uses the time and money saved by passing Fast Track™ exams is unique. In Sandy’s case, it will keep her on the move as she explores new frontiers as a CTU graduate.
