Chapter 32: Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
Veterans Educational Assistance Program, an education benefit program, is available to you if you elected to make contributions from your military pay to the program. The government matches your contributions on a 2-for-1 basis. You will receive monthly benefits payments to use toward tuition and books.
Veterans Educational Assistance Program may be used for:
- a college degree
- certificate programs
- technical or vocational courses
- flight training
- on-the-job training
- high-tech training
- licensing and certification tests
- entrepreneurship training
- certain entrance examinations
- correspondence courses
Benefit entitlement is for 1-36 months depending on the number of monthly contributions, and may be used 10 years from the time you transition from active duty.
