Chapter 1606: Montgomery GI Bill® – Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)
MGIB-SR provides education and training benefits to eligible members of the Selected Reserve, including the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, and Army National Guard and Air National Guard. Assistance may be used for college degree and certificate programs, co-op training, technical or vocational courses, flight training, apprenticeship or on-the-job training, high-tech training, licensing and certifications tests, entrepreneurship training, certain entrance exams and correspondence courses. MGIB-SR provides entitlement to receive up to 36 months of education benefits. Eligibility is determined by the Selected Reserve components and payment is distributed through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
