Meet Dr. Michael Flanagan
School of Business
Life at full throttle...in class and out
When not tethered via mouse and monitor to his virtual classrooms, Dr. Michael Flanagan might be found piloting a private plane, steering behind the wheel of a racecar in the Sports Car Club of America or trimming the spinnaker of a large sailboat.
To wind down from such exhilarating activities, the Colorado Springs adventurer enjoys tending an 1800 square-foot model train set or picking up one of his many acoustic guitars to strum '50s, '60s or '70s folk music.

Colorado Tech Online professors are real people who lead interesting, active lives. Their professional experience, personal interests and overwhelming sense of dedication to their students combine to make them people worth knowing, teachers worthy of your consideration.
IT expertise
Michael Flanagan has vast experience in the IT field, including management positions in various telecommunications and commercial industries, plus five years assisting in the "Star Wars" Development Program.
Flanagan is a strong proponent of Colorado Tech Online's curriculum. "Certificates demonstrate students' interest in expanding their job proficiency while increasing their value to their organizations that employ them. They also provide measurable stepping stones as students move towards the completion of their chosen degree programs," he explains.
As for the students he encounters in his virtual classrooms, Flanagan is highly complimentary. "I am absolutely amazed by the quality of work demonstrated by Colorado Tech Online's students, not to mention the motivation and dedication driving them to succeed in their personal and professional goals. It's very rewarding."
Dr. Flanagan received his B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1970. He completed his Master's of Executive Development for Government Service in 1976. In 1997, he completed his Doctorate of Management at Colorado Technical University.
