Welcome From The Dean
Thank you for visiting the School of Engineering web pages at Colorado Technical University (CTU). In particular, I would like to extend a warm welcome to prospective engineering students, parents, and others who have shown an interest in our programs. It is my hope that you will find in CTU an engineering school that is both challenging and rewarding. If you’ve never visited Colorado, it is a state beyond compare. CTU’s Colorado campuses are located in Denver (north and south locations), Colorado Springs (the home of CTU engineering), and in Pueblo. All are nestled at the foot of the Front Range and are a short drive from the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Careful - once you set foot in Colorado, you may never want to leave!
Our focus at CTU is on learning, and the staff and faculty are devoted to helping each student achieve his/her program goals leading to opportunities in high-skill engineering professions. These accredited degrees are designed with iconsideration of industry input through our engineering advisory board, so knowledge and skills a graduate could obtain are industry relevant.
In 2007, we also began enrolling students in the Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSSE) program, which is designed to meet curricular standards established by the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS) and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) as articulated through the Software Engineering Education Knowledge (SEEK) – these standards were confirmed by industry through the advice of a national Blue Ribbon Panel of experts. This program, also offered at the Colorado Springs campus, is the only BSSE program in the state of Colorado - it is designed to help students learn industry knowledge.
At the master’s level, we are proud to offer a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) and Master of Science in Computer Engineering (MSCE) at the Colorado Springs campus. In addition, we offer a Master of Science in Systems Engineering (MSSE) at the Colorado Springs campus, Denver campuses, and 100% online through our CTU Online division. The MSEE provides depth of study in emphasis areas such as digital communications, integrated circuit design, and digital signal processing, while the MSCE focuses on digital hardware and software, including software engineering and computer security. The MSSE program, on the other hand, is designed to help provide systems engineering skills to practicing engineers.
I would like to encourage you to browse our website in more depth – meet the faculty, peruse degree program details, explore some of the engineering links we’ve provided, and get caught up on what our students and faculty are doing. If you have any questions about engineering programs at CTU, please do not hesitate to email me at bharmon@coloradotech.edu. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely
Bruce Harmon, Ph.D.
University Dean of Engineering and Computer Science
