Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice: Concentration in Forensic Investigation

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Investigation degree (BSCJ-FI) program is designed to provide a foundation in law enforcement, the courts, and corrections; it also helps the student learn a foundational forensic investigative knowledge and skill base. Combining the theory and practice, the BSCJ with concentration in Forensic Investigation may provide the student with exciting opportunities through lab and practicum experiences in the investigation of crimes and criminal profiling.

If you’re intrigued by the role physical evidence plays in solving crimes in today’s society, Colorado Technical University’s Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Investigation program offers an opportunity to learn how it’s done. Along with a foundation in the criminal justice system, which includes the areas of law enforcement, the courts and corrections, you will have an opportunity to focus on forensic investigation – including lab and realistic experiences where you can become familiar with crime investigation, criminal profiling and other areas.

Along with an understanding of social and abnormal psychology and the laws of evidence, you can learn various investigative skills and techniques involved in matters such as forensic photography, fingerprint identification and the implications of bones, bugs and teeth in human remains. You will also have an opportunity to develop effective interview and interrogation skills.
