Accreditation

Accrediting organizations set the academic standards by which their member institutions must comply. This quality assurance process is performed by private membership associations. Colorado Technical University has accreditations with the following organizations:

University Accreditation

Colorado Technical University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Illinois 60604-1411). ABET

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Colorado Springs Campus are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.

Council for Higher Education Accreditation

Colorado Technical University is a CHEA member and is accredited by a CHEA-recognized accrediting organization.

A national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation, CHEA is an association of 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities and recognizes 60 institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations.

Health Science Accreditation

The Surgical Technology Program at Colorado Technical University's Denver North campus in Westminster, CO is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. The Colorado Technical University Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology Program in Kansas City, Missouri, is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.

The Colorado Technical University Diploma and Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting Programs in Kansas City, Missouri, are accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). ABHES is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education for the programmatic accreditation of medical assistant, medical laboratory technician and surgical technology programs leading to a certificate, diploma, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Occupational Science, or academic associate degrees and programs offered by distance delivery.

The Associate of Science in Medical Assisting at Colorado Technical University's Sioux Falls, SD campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board. The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is the largest programmatic accreditor in the health sciences field. In collaboration with its Committees on Accreditation, CAAHEP reviews and accredits over 2000 educational programs in twenty (20) health science occupations.

National Court Reporters Association

The Court Reporting night program at the Sioux Falls campus is certified by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). The Sioux Falls night program has met the General Requirements and Minimum Standards as established by the Council on Approved Student Education (CASE) to be a NCRA-certified program.

State Licensure

Alabama Residents
Colorado Technical University is authorized by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education to operate a private school pursuant to the Alabama Private School License Law. Colorado Technical University is approved to offer programs in Alabama by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.

Arkansas Residents
Colorado Technical University is certified to offer online degree programs by the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board certification does not constitute an endorsement of any institution, course or degree program.  Such certification merely indicates that certain minimum standards have been met under the rules and regulations of institutional certification as defined in Arkansas Code §6-61-301.

Minnesota Residents
Colorado Technical University is registered as a private institution with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to sections 136A.61 to 136A.71. Registration is not an endorsement of the institution. Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions

Missouri Residents
